Distilling learnings from the River Landscapes workshop by Science Gallery Bangalore and Pro Helvetia into an interactive intervention, the glossword explores alternative imaginaries, starting with our lexicon.

The four-day transdisciplinary workshop focused on situating historical and contemporary realities of rivers within larger political, technocratic and sociocultural imaginations. For the post-workshop group show and publication, I drew from my extensive notes of the lectures, presentations and discussions with scientists and artists to craft a speculative glossary and crossword puzzle. Playful and melancholic, subversive and whimsical, this plurilingual collection of neologisms and semantic shifts attempts to inspire stewardship in our more-than-human world.

These neologisms and other artistic outcomes are forthcoming in the official River Landscapes Publication in 2026.
